Since 1999 after Deb had introduced me (Leanne) to the world of trick riding, so the beginning of the training of the 1st ALL GIRL TRICK RIDING team commenced. As the years passed so too came an amazing amount of wonderful students. All with a dream to Trick Ride. I would like to take this time to mention these beautiful people, as without them, the success of my Original Team (which I co-owned....) "GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS" - My 2nd Show "D'POSSE TRICK RIDERS" & my current show (in which I re-united with Deborah Brennan back in early 2003) the "PONY EXPRESS TRICK RIDERS".
They all gave 150%! I couldn't be more proud! So today, I begin to collate THIS PAGE and an ALBUM dedicated to those who helped me to become the Performer & Teacher I am today!
Also, a special thanks to the parents who committed to getting the Performers to training twice a week (up to 4 times a week in school holidays!) and tirelessly helping out on Performance days.
These photos are Spectacular momentos from the Pony Express Performers, who were extremely dedicated, trained hard, and "Nailed-It" when it mattered!!
THANK YOU!! Leanne -xox-
(Training & Performing from 11-16yrs of age)
Kirralee . The eldest of 3 sisters who come from a very close family to me! I bought Kirra her first pony, Deisel, when she was around 3-4yrs old. By the time we'd completed Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2000, she was itching to join the troupe of performers.
The year was 2000 and Kirra was only 11yrs old. She went on to perform incredibly over the next 6yrs before school commitments and her new love of Pony Club and other Equine competition became her priority.
I'm so proud to have had her for so many years, and to see her grow into such a beautiful young woman, who... I might add, is a wonderful horse woman. I'm excited we could play a small part in your adventurous life!
To her Mum & Dad (Sharyn & Steve), Thank You for your Love and Support, the use of your property when I had to start all over again! For taking care of the horses and Montana's new foal "Tekoma" when I went to go on tour with the "Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls" across the USA (2001)!!!
AWESOME "ONE FOOT STAND!"
Joined in 2000 around the age of 17. She trained with me and performed with D'Posse and Pony Express, throughout her highschool years. Later after Graduating High School, Em had the fantastic opportunity of taking her passion and working with it full-time! She worked on the show Equestra, travelling around Australia.
I absolutely LOVE these brilliant photos of her taken at Warrick Farm Racetrack - Tsunami Fundraiser.
This was one of the first times we had in our career, to get digital photos that were so breathtaking! Thanks to Steve White Photography!!
Adam - riding "Little Miss Magic" - (Leanne's Paint/ Stock Horse mare)
An Amazing Horseman! He came to me around 2003 to learn the art of Trick Riding. Something different, and certainly something challenging! He only trained for a short time, due to the over whelming commitments to his ever increasing clientel (Adam is a wonderful horse trainer!... And word had got around!!)
Then in 2007 he had some time to put back in to his training, and Australia Day 2008 saw him perform with us for the 1st time at Royal Randwick Racetrack. One of the most prestegious Racetracks in Australia!
We performed again together at a very special fundraising event for Olivia Newton-John's Cancer appeal at Mt. Penang Parklands in August, 2008. Many of the Celebrities who came to support this event, said they'd only come if they saw Adam perform! We had Tammy McIntosh (All Saints) Kirk Pengelly (INXS) to name a few.
"REVERSE ONE FOOT STAND"
Felicity came to me an already versitile rider and athelete, even though she was at the tender age of eight!
She not only competed at Pony Club and Sporting, but was a competent little gymnist and had already done some modelling!
She was naturally gifted, and was soon performing in shows. She trained extremely hard. She had wonderful support, and like all the parents of my students, they too gave 100%!
Flip (as we all called her) complimented her mount, the beautiful Quarter Horse mare - "Montana". I used to refer to Montana as "The Pony Express" as she loved to perform, galloping at full speed down the racetrack.
Flip was with us until she was about 11yrs old.
Kirsty came to me as a fairly quite, shy, petite 11yr old girl that wouldn't take her beautiful buckskin pony any faster than a trot. She'd been watching the troupe training hard a few times a week over the past few months and her "butt" was burning with ambition to "get out of the saddle!"
With her wonderful Mum, Julie by her side, she nervously asked (her Mum that is!...) about joining the Pony Express!
Over the next 5yrs she proved to be a great asset to our production. Not only did she master the art of Trick Riding on one horse, but mastered the personalities of all 6 of my horses! (As did ALL of the student that come and train with me)
